Dennis Pollock will officiate. Burial will follow in the Young Family Cemetery outside Benson. Mr. Wood was born on March 12, 1959 in Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his biological father, Bill Massengill and his adoptive father, Bobby Ray Wood. Billy Ray loved everyone, including all his facebook friends. He also enjoyed fishing and playing on his Ipad.

Surviving include his mother, Annie Ruth Lee Wood; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Dale and Ann Wood of Princeton; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl W. and Victor Johnson of Benson; nieces, Amber and Hailey; one great-nephew, Tanner and one great-niece, Ellie; several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends from 9:45 AM-10:45 AM, Tuesday prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Flowers are welcome; however, the family suggest memorials to Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital, 3000 Erwin Road, Durham, NC 27705 or to the Spina Bifida Association of the Carolinas, www.
