Obituary of Bishop Sherman Standridge Bishop Sherman Foster Standridge, 54, beloved husband of Kimberly Richardson Standridge and beloved father to Carter-Ann Owens and Olivia Standridge, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at his home. Born on June 8, 1964, in Athens, GA, Bishop Standridge was raised on a farm in Commerce, GA by his parents, Joyce Elizabeth Tolbert Standridge and the late J.B. Standridge. He had a great love for Christ that led him to become an ordained Bishop in the Church of God and a Conference Evangelist.

Bishop Standridge’s love for ministry continued as he traveled around singing gospel music, most recently with The Cribbs. He was a member of Outland Church of God. Bishop Standridge enjoyed ice cream and the smell of a diesel engine, was a jack of all trades, a singer and musician.

He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, pastor, friend and, above all else, a follower of Jesus of Christ who led many people to the Lord. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; mother of Commerce, GA; two children, Carter-Ann Owens (Isaac) of Georgetown and Olivia Standridge of Georgetown; one stepson, Caleb Hayes of Georgetown; one step grandson, Dallas Hayes of Georgetown; one sister, Jackie Allen of Commerce, GA; two brothers, Ricky Standridge (Cathy) of Commerce and Micky Standridge (Tonia) of Commerce, SC; a sister-in-law, Brenda Standridge-Cape of Commerce, GA; the mother of his children, Jan Carter of Surfside Beach; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Standridge.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Georgetown Church of God with Rev. Derrick Cutter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday at Georgetown Church of God and other times at the home of his daughter, Carter-Ann Owens.
