Vesel, 90, of Engadine, died Sunday afternoon May 19, 2019 at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital. Born October 20, 1928 in Ensign, daughter of the late Howard and Della (Vinette) Johnson, Blanche was a 1946 graduate of Engadine High School and married Louis Vesel on August 23, 1947 in Engadine. Blanche was employed as a Postal Clerk for the United States Postal Service in Engadine and later in Newberry until her retirement in 1987.

Following retirement and missing being around people, she continued working for three summers at the Hiawatha Sportman’s Club office. Blanche was a member of Our Ladies of Lourdes Catholic Church in Engadine and the Engadine V.F.W. Post #8372 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, craft shows and casino gaming.

In addition to her parents, Blanche is preceded in death by her husband Louis on August 22, 2015; son Tom Vesel; siblings Richard Johnson, James Johnson, Ivan Johnson and Betty Houghton. Survivors include her daughters Mary (Marv) Germain and Debra (Tom) King all of Engadine; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Brenda Vesel of WA. Friends may call at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Naubinway on Thursday May 23, 2019 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at the church with Fr. Marty Flynn officiating. Rite of Committal with follow at the Engadine Cemetery.
