Blanche Devin Stewart, age 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Naperville, IL on November 15th, 2018. She is survived by her loving husband, Dick, of 53 years as well as her beloved son, Rick (wife, Alison) and two granddaughters, Kate and Libby of Park Ridge, IL. She was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on April 8th, 1938 to Edward and Cora Devin.

She graduated from Walker… Read More » Public Schools and left for Chicago to work for Dr. Quint, a family acquaintance that had a summer home on Leech Lake. She met and married Richard Stewart in Chicago on December 27th, 1965.

They had one son and made their home in Naperville, IL. They made many trips to Walker, MN and Fremont, NE to visit family on both sides. They enjoyed playing whist, fishing, making maple syrup, skiing and experiencing nature at Nana Devin’s house.

Blanche was a wonderful homemaker. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful hooked rugs that were displayed throughout her home as well as her amazing baking skills, including her sugar and gingerbread cookies. They were irresistible.

Blanche devoted herself to her family, especially her two granddaughters whom she adored with all of her heart. They loved their “Nana” and treasured the times spent reading, playing games and baking together. Her Catholic faith was also very important and she was a faithful member of St. Peter and Paul, Naperville, IL.

Additional family left behind to cherish her memory include sister Lavanne (Arlan) Schrupp-Riebe of Hutchinson, MN as well as extended family and friends. She will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Cora Devin and sister, Donna Floyd.
