Obituary for Bobbie Joe Carter Bobbie (Bob) Joe Carter, 76, passed away on June 26, 2018, at his home in Liberal, KS. He was born to Talmadge Carter and Madge Adams Simpson on September 14, 1941 at his grandparent’s home in rural Louisa, KY. He was raised by his grandparents, Millard and Lucy Adams and at the age 15 moved to Liberal following other family.

After finishing the 9th grade, he began working in housing construction with his uncles, Art Olson, Fred Adams and Bill Rogers. He was also employed by Julian Water Well, Seward County Land & Cattle and T&W Water Well Service. In 1987 he went to work for Robert White, and worked their until his health forced him to retire in 2017.

He enjoyed hunting and especially chasing coyotes with his and his brother Jim’s greyhounds. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sandy Other survivors include: 3 sons Mike Carter and his wife Barbara Mooreland, OK Bobby Carter and his girlfriend Connie Pratt, KS Justin Carter and his wife Linsey Liberal, KS 3 daughters Brenda and her husband Paul Hildrebrant Thornton, CO Gina Ward Granite, OK Jamie and her husband Doug Minneman Marysville, KS 11 grandchildren Chris Aragon Thornton, CO Kelli and husband Jim Sampson Mooreland, OK Kevin and wife Kaylea Carter Mooreland, OK Brandon and wife Kiya Carter Texas McKenna & Kendall Minneman Marysville, KS Devaney, Gentry, Jacey, Landry and Kiley Carter Liberal, KS 8 Great Grandchildren Breadon Lira; Carter and Evan Sampson; Brycen, Alaina, Paisley, Bo and William Carter. He is also survived by his mother in law, Joan Guenther of Elkart; Sisters in law Rosemary Carter Weaver of Liberal and Carolyn (Gene) Alberts of Garfield, AR; brothers in law Mark (Joyce) Guenther of Guymon, OK and Tim (Shona) Guenther of Carthage,TX; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, step father Bob Simpson, Brothers Jim Carter and Gary Simpson, father in law Ferris Guenther and three granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Kayla and Cheyanne. Visitation will be from 1pm to 8pm, Sunday, July 1, at Brenneman Funeral Home. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:30-8pm.

Funeral Services will be 10:00am Monday, July 2 at Brenneman Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Wheling presiding. Burial to follow at Liberal Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Saint Catherine’s Hospice, in care of the Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
