Bobby’s Obituary Bobby Clenton Beck, 87, passed away on January 22, 2019 at his home in Dalton, Georgia. Bobby is preceded in death by his loving parents, Oscar and Mary Ann Beck, his sisters, Dorothy E. Beck Johnson and Erlene Beck Grice, and his son, Phillip Dennis Beck. Bobby was born in Williston, South Carolina to Oscar Floyd and Mary Ann Scott Beck on February 28, 1931.

He married Ann Rosamund Twinning on December 11, 1954 in Cambury Baptist Church in Cheltenham, Gloucester, England. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1956. He graduated from Augusta State College with a BBA in Accounting.

He worked as an accountant for Shaw Industries for 25 years. In the Augusta community, he served as the Director of the National Association of Accountants and the President of the Fleming Lions Club. In the Dalton community, he served as President of the Dalton Lions International Club, President of the Looper Speech and Hearing Clinic, President of the Whitfield County Unit of the American Heart Association and Exalted Ruler of the Dalton Elks.

He was recognized by Governor Zell Miller and FLOTUS Nancy Reagan for his state and national work on drug awareness campaigns. Bobby is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann Rosamund Twinning Beck, his daughter, Elisabeth Ann Beck Hunt, his grandchildren, Jansen Nicholas Hunt and Mary Caitlin Hunt Kelso, his great-granddaughter, Dakota Sage Kelso, his sister, Virginia M. Beck Berry, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 12 until 1 pm in the Atrium of First Baptist Church of Dalton.

Funeral services will follow visitation in the Chapel of First Baptist with the Reverend Phillip Cannon officiating. Burial will be Friday, January 25th at 4 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery in Augusta, GA. with Dr. Rodger Murchison of First Baptist Church in Augusta leading the service of committal and the Honor Guard of Ft.

Gordon providing full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Dalton Invest Fund, the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society. The family of Bobby wishes to extend sincere thanks to Georgia Elite Homecare Services, Amedisys Hospice Care, Dr. Norleena Gullet, Erlanger Baroness Hospital of Chattanooga, and his dear friends at First Baptist Church of Dalton for their loving care and support.
