Bobby Earl Gaines, 58, of Loves Park, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018. He was born on March 8, 1960 in Rockford to Earl and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Gaines. Bobby enjoyed camping and a good bonfire.

He had a passion for motorcycles and cars and was known as a jokester who loved his beer. He often played pool, darts and attended many concerts, most recently Country Thunder with Chris for four days. Bobby was also a Bears fan.

Survivors include his fiance, Chris Wood; children, Ryan Gaines and Rainy (Troy) Moroney; granddaughter, Ellena Moroney; father, Earl Gaines; daughter, Brittany Wood; brother, Bruce Caudell; sister, Connie Nagel; “adopted” son, Corey Carter and best friend, Jim Ballard. Predeceased by his mother, Mary; brother, Ralph Caudell; sister, Kathleen Gosha and best friends, Mike Haywood and Gary Presson. Special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice and the staff at OSF Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd. , Loves Park, Illinois 61111 with Pastor Anthony Maynard officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
