LaVerne Lawrence Kindell, 85, Rockford passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018. Born March 31, 1933 in Rockford to Ward Stewart and Bessie (Lawrence) Kindell. Married Debra Ruth Matherly December 1979 in Church of Christ, Belvidere.

Retired from UPS. LaVerne was active in Rockford Model T Club and Masons. He also volunteered to drive veterans to Madison.

LaVerne loved to travel, RVing and scuba diving. Survivors include wife Debra Matherly Kindell; children, Steven (Cindy) Kindell, Sheree (Vito) Cortez, Renee (Gary) Haun, Gregory (Dale) Kindell, Julie (Matt) Bromeland, Carol (Christopher) Valdivia; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; infant son, David; and brother, Lawrence.

Memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park. Burial in Owen Township Cemetery.
