Bobby was born to Luther and Lizzie (Carnline) Shoemaker on May 4, 1941, in the Shamrock Community. Bobby was a skilled craftsman who could build anything he saw.

His hand-crafted furniture, especially his rocking chairs, can be found far and wide. He had a vivid imagination and built several unique things, including a large, model airplane and a cannon, all by hand. He loved building and spent many hours in his shop, which he also built.

He was a deer hunter and looked forward to deer season every year. He was especially proud of the 10-point buck that he killed and had mounted on his wall. Bobby was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Congregational Methodist Church.

He loved worshipping God during every service. His favorite service was Wednesday Night Bible Study. Bobby was born deaf and mute but that never limited his ability to work or communicate.

He operated a skidder, worked as a logger and was a shade tree mechanic, able to fix anything with wheels, as long as his health permitted. Although he never spoke or heard a word while here on earth, he is now singing praises to God. The very first words he ever heard were, “Enter in!

” Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lizzie Carnline Shoemaker; one brother, Charles Raymond Shoemaker; one sister, Carolyn Shoemaker Ensinger; and one nephew, Shad Taylor. He is survived by three brothers; Clyde Shoemaker and Clifford Shoemaker of Robeline, LA, and Kenneth Shoemaker and wife Sarah of Natchitoches, LA; one sister, Ruthie Shoemaker Taylor of Robeline, LA; two aunts, Ellen Lewis of Carencro, LA, and Esther Campbell and husband Troy of Belmont, LA; four nieces, Mindy Taylor and Christy Taylor of Robeline, LA, Brandy Ensinger of Natchitoches, LA, and Erica Scott of Bossier City, LA; one nephew, Kevin Ensinger of Natchitoches, LA; one brother-in-law, Oscar Ensinger of Natchitoches, LA; and one sister-in-law, Lillie Shoemaker of Robeline, LA. A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Hickory Grove Congregational Methodist Church in Robeline, LA, with the Reverends Brian Foster Jennings and Donnie Paul Lewing officiating.
