In the years that followed, they returned to this area and worked on several farms. In 1961, they purchased their own farm on North Clayton Ridge near Soldiers Grove. She enjoyed living the farm life for 57 years.

She loved feeding the birds in several bird feeders in her front yard. Even though her sight was almost gone, she still insisted that they were filled. She also loved her big white “cat,” that was really Blanca, a well-loved Pitbull.
Her greatest desire was that all who knew her would meet her Savior and live lives to honor Jesus. Survivors include all five of her children, Lyle (Gina), Linda Stackhouse (Irvin), Debbie Saunchegrow (Herb), David (Laurie), and Nancy Davies (Dick. ) Her Grandchildren, Andy Dalton (Sarah), Jill Moran (John), Michael, Kevin, and Angie Stackhouse, Sarah, Courtney, and Joshua Saunchegrow, Lacey Wojtowicz (Phil), Erik Tanner (Effie) and Nichole Reynolds (George), Aliya, Katie, and Dalton Davies.
