Thomas J. Updike, 71 of Boscobel, passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 7, 2019. Son of Dorland E. and Bessie A. Mayne, he was born in Boscobel, October 26, 1947. He married Mary Miller on October 26, 1968, and to that union four sons were born.

He farmed in Grant County area and worked at Advance Transformer, and Swiss Colony until he moved to Texas with his family in 1990. He returned to Boscobel in 2017. Thomas is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Michelle), Scott, Joshua, all of Hayesville, NC, and Michael (Chris) of Ringgold, GA; 9 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Brittany, Elizabeth, Danny, Nicole, Kathryn, Carrie, Victoria, and Jacob, and 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Bonnie (Richard) Carlin, of Fennimore, Roger (Sharon) Updike, of Boscobel, Linda (Lloyd) Maag of Woodman, and Rose (Daniel) Knapp of Cuba City; and a special friend, Pam He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kenneth and a sister Julie.
