Jean Elizabeth Shipley, age 99, passed away at Care and Rehab Boscobel on February 27, 2019. Jean was born in Boscobel on January 17, 1920, daughter of Roy and Minnie (Jewett) Patterson. Jean was united in marriage to Lyle F. Shipley on April 1, 1942.

Together they raised four daughters in Wauzeka, WI. Jean was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, needlework and spending time with her family.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Jane (Bob) Lenz of Prairie du Chien, Patti (Jerry) Achenbach of Boscobel and Mary (Wayne Cooley) Shipley of Bagley; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Lyle; her parents, Roy and Minnie Patterson; a daughter, Susan Young; son- in law, Charles Young and Roger Wikland; sister, Virginia Houtz; brother-in-law, Marlin Houtz and a brother, George Patterson. Services will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 12:00 PM, at Century Hall in Wauzeka with Pastor Joel Oines officiating.
