Bonnie Lavada Grayson nee Covington, 89, of Cedar Hill Missouri passed away May 4, 2019. She was born in Russell, Arkansas on April 5, 1930 to the late Ranzy and Hazel Covington. Bonnie graduated from high school in Augusta Arkansas and eventually settled in House Springs MO after marriage.
A lifelong member of House Springs Baptist Church, Bonnie served there helping in many ways including VBS, Sunday School, WMU, Bates Creek Camp Counselor. At church and at home she was a prayer warrior. She devoted her life to her family and passing her strong faith to the next generations.
Her friends and neighbors remember before her health declined, she sold vegetables and strawberries from her garden at a road side stand at her home. She enjoyed keeping her yard and flower beds impeccable. Her most joy, however, came from being surrounded by family at meals where she would impart love through words of wisdom and advice to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She left each of them a legacy of strength, high work ethic, strong faith, and greatest of all —love. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband R. A. Grayson, grandson Luke Grayson, brothers Sonny Covington and Carlos Covington, Sister in law Mary Sue Covington, brothers in law John Frasier Ashby and Donnie Hayes, and aunt Loni Paul. Bonnie is survived by her five children: Mitzi (David Webster), Jim Grayson (Elizabeth), Betty Jo (Dan Hall), Mary Catherine (Mike Yankowsky), and Richard Grayson (Julia).
Grandchildren: Isaac Webster (Ryan Brockington), Mark Webster (Jennifer Austin), Catherine Elizabeth (Jeremy Neuman), Josh Grayson (Trina McDaniel), Sam Hall (Kelly Seale), Meredith Hall-Bottoms (James Bottoms), Nathan Gonzales (Jaime Mollerus), Aaron Gonzales (Deborah), Callista Kostine (Iouri) and Richard Grayson II. Great Grandchildren: Rumi Ann and Xander Brockington Webster, Luke, Noelle, Brett and Rowan Webster, Elizabeth and Everett Neuman, Taylor and Ethan Grayson, Rhett Grayson and Meika, Sean Loney-Hall, Gabrielle, Lydia, and Theodore Bottoms, Noah, Levi, and Gabe Hall, Cameryn and Isaac Gonzales, Grant and Zachary Gonzales, Hannah, Sarah, and Chase Grayson, Franklin Kostine. Her sisters, Helen Ashby, Eloise Tims (Rudy) and Betty Sue Hayes; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will immediately follow the memorial service at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy 30 Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016, on Wednesday, May 8, at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Food Pantry. A Life Celebration luncheon for friends and family following the interment service.
