Brant Franklin Ussery, 73, of Richfield, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 at his home in Richfield, NC. He was born April 20, 1945 in Stanly County, NC to the late Benjamin Franklin “Frank” and Lucille Bowers Ussery. Brant was a 1963 graduate of Albemarle Senior High School and a graduate of Stanly Tech.

He retired as a Superintendent for Myers & Chapman, a General Contractor. Brant was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War in Thailand. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

Brant loved going out to eat with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Brant is survived by his wife Linda Kay Troutman Ussery, whom he married August 9, 1968; son, Michael Ussery and wife Lori of Concord; daughter, Michelle Lentz and husband Woody of Richfield; granddaughters, Sierra Smith and Julia Ussery; grandson, Daniel Ussery; step-grandsons, Garrett Lentz and Connor Lentz; sisters, Evelyn Drye and husband Jackie and Dorothy Chandler and husband Farrell; brother, Lonnie Ussery and wife Diane; his dog Buddy, bird Rosco; and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends and relatives on Monday, February 11, 2019, 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm at Luther’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, Richfield, NC.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 11, 2019, in the Luther’s Lutheran Church, Richfield, NC, with Pastor Jeff Hoffner, officiating. Burial will follow in the Luther’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Luther’s Lutheran Church 4955 Richfield Road, Richfield, NC 28137 or to Trellis Supportive Care 301 S. Main Street, Suite 105, Salisbury, NC 28144.
