OBITUARY Bratton Watson May 29, 1926 – December 9, 2018 Bratton Watson of Seattle Washington passed away on Sunday the 9th of December, 2018 at the age of 92. He was born in La Mesa, Dawson County, Texas on the 29th of May 1926. His family later moved to California.

Bratton was honorably discharged from the Navy after serving during WWII on missions in the Pacific. His ship was the USS Admiralty Islands CVE-99 he was honorably discharged in 1946 Bratton achieved Seaman 1st class, entered as a gunners mate, and then became a Store Keeper (SK). Bratton married Elaine C Brown who was also a Seattle resident. She was born 9th of July 1920 in Crookston, Cherry County, Nebraska and preceded Bratton in death on the 2nd of August 2007. The parents of both Bratton and Elaine were farmers and their families moved westward in response to the hardship caused by the dust bowl and the great depression.

They found comfortable refuge on the West coast. Bratton and Elaine lived here in Seattle and raised a family of four children while Bratton worked for various local companies until they started their own successful business; Watson Painting and Papering. Elaine stayed at home while raising the children and functioning as an effective bookkeeper for the business.

When they finally retired they took time to see some of our great country. Bratton loved to go to his cabin near the beach on a regular basis and kept it up for his descendants to use during his lifetime. Bratton is survived by his four children in order of birth: Rita, Brian, Jeff and David.

There are 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Graveside ceremonies will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 19th 2018 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Seattle. It will be a simple graveside sharing of memories for close friends and families wanting to participate.
