Obituary Service Details Brenda Joyce (Taylor) Allen, age 68 of Olney, passed away at 5:45 PM on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at her residence in Olney. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 13, 2018 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home.

Burial will be at McKendree Cemetery in Mt. Erie. Pastor Tim Loomis will be officiating.

Brenda was born on February 20, 1950, the daughter of Donald and Cleomia (Yohe) Taylor. She later married Steve Allen on January 9, 2001 in Las Vegas. He survives.

She worked in health care as a CNA at Burgin Manor for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling and traveling.

She traveled to many different countries and especially enjoyed going to the Gulf Coast. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Brenda is survived by her husband Steve Allen of Olney; 2 children Stephanie Sutton (Shawn) of Olney and Alan Burgener (Amy) of Marion; 2 step-sons Todd Allen of Westport, TN and Ross Allen of Eustis, FL; 2 brothers Larry Taylor (Janet) of Clay City and Steven Taylor of Mt.

Erie; 4 grandchildren Devon Johnson (Ellen), Taylor Johnson, Skyler Sutton and Alex Burgener; 2 great-grandchildren Gracelynn Johnson and Lucas Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Cleomia Taylor. Memorials can be sent to the Hospice of Southeastern Illinois in memory of Brenda Joyce Allen.
