Brent S. Avery 1953 – 2019 Brent Steven Avery, 66, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 14, 2019 at his home in Annabella, Utah. Brent was a loving father, husband, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was born on January 8th, 1953 to Steven Avery and Nelda Duncan in northern Utah.

He graduated from South Sevier High School. At age 19 on July 14th, 1972 he married the love of his life, Shauna Jensen. Brent’s biggest dream in life was to become a father.

When son Jericho and daughter Danielle arrived, he lived to give them the best possible life he could. He cherished his children and always spoke of how proud he was of them. Brent worked hard to always make sure that his children had what they needed to accomplish their dreams by working as a Corrections Officer through the Utah Department of Corrections, where he retired.

After retirement Brent enjoyed doing yard work beside his loving wife and playing with his grandchildren. Brent loved being a grandfather, cherishing all his grandchildren and loved being “papa”. He gleamed when he spoke of his grandchildren as they brightened his world.

Brent was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Annabella 1st Ward. He is survived by his wife, Shauna Avery; son, Jericho (Destiny) Avery; daughter, Danielle Otrega; grandchildren: Neomi Avery, Lydia Ortega, Lucas Ortega, Landon Ortega, and Olivia Avery; brothers, Kenneth (Cindy) Avery and Scott (Lori) Duncan; sister, Jackie Fullmer. He is proceeded in death by his father, Ernest Avery, mother Nelda Duncan, stepfather Harold Duncan, and sister Vickie Jacobson.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the Richfield City Cemetery. Friends may call to visit with the family at the Magleby Mortuary on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
