Brianna Hyun-Me Mailloux Brianna Hyun-Me Mailloux passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018. She was born October 19, 2000 in Springfield, MA and was the beloved daughter of Stephen and Sara (Choi) Mailloux of Suffield, CT. Brianna was a senior at Suffield High School and The Greater Hartford Academy of Math and Science/AAE in Windsor, CT.

Brianna, a high honor student, was always humbled when recognized throughout her life for her academic and athletic excellence. Some achievements include the NCCC scholar athlete awards, Business Department Award in Finance, Social Studies Award in Modern History, The Mount Holyoke Book Award and the CT Science & Engineering Fair Honors Award. She enjoyed running and playing soccer, basketball and lacrosse at a young age.

Her passion for these sports led to active participation in the Suffield travel soccer, lacrosse and basketball leagues, CFC/Wolves and SMS XC team. She was honored to earn the Suffield High School Varsity Letters in basketball, lacrosse and soccer during her Freshman year and continued these sports during high school. She was recently voted as her team captain for the Suffield High School Varsity Lacrosse Team.

Deeply rooted in her community, Brianna actively participated in her church, The First Church of Christ. She volunteered for programs such as the Summer Youth Bible Camp, journeyed to Korea on a missionary exchange program, helped coach the Youth Lax Cats and tutored her peers. Her happiest times were spent at the beach with friends and family.

She was an avid writer and in her spare time composed music and played the piano; but most of all, she enjoyed being a role model for her two younger sisters. Brianna’s compassion, kindness, drive and strength showed through in everything she touched. Brianna aspired to pursue a degree in medicine to help those in need as already demonstrated by her multi-year dedication to cancer cell research.

She is survived by her parents Stephen and Sara Mailloux, two sisters Hailee and Alexis, and two grandmothers JungSun Choi and Laurene Mailloux. She is also survived by her many aunts and uncles: InYoung Choi and wife InSun, InOk Irene Choi and husband Brian Sears, InAh Chambers and husband Christopher, Mark Mailloux and wife Jacki, Lynn Brown and husband Fred, Tracey Bey and boyfriend Christopher Shea and her cousins Jason and Kristy; Kevin and Simone; Morgan; Talitha, Emily, Benjamin, and Corban; Justin, Renee, Nathan and Taylor; and Christopher. She was predeceased by her grandfather Gerald Mailloux last year.

Friends and relatives are invited for visitation hours from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, April 27, 2018 at The Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield. Additional parking with shuttle from Suffield High School. Memorial services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 28 at The First Church of Christ, 81 High Street, Suffield.
