Obituary for Bridgette Ameline Matte Print A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in St. John’s Catholic Chapel in Lewisburg for Bridgette B. Matte, 88, who passed away on Tuesday, February 05, 2019 at 5:41 A.M. at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas. Msgr. Jeff DeBlanc, Pastor of St. John’s Chapel in Lewisburg will be officiating for the services.

Burial will be held in the St. John’s Catholic Chapel in Lewisburg. The family has requested the visitation to be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited by her nephew, Deacon Byrne Winn at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will resume on Thursday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services. Survivors include three sons, Jay Matte and companion, Lavinia Latiolais of Opelousas, Dale and wife, Bridgette Matte of Port Barre, Nolan and wife, Frances Matte of Rayne; five daughters, Geneva and husband, Larry Bearb of Lafayette, Patricia and husband, Ricky Royer of Lawrenceville, GA, Madeline and husband, Daniel Boone of Scott, Elaine Benard and companion, Gary Hardy of Opelousas, Odelia and husband, Ricky Leger of Sunset; eighteen grandchildren, Chris, Danielle, Kelly, Stacy, Bridget, Chad, Angela, Sarah, Savannah, Erica, Aggie, Nathan, Joshua, Christian, Toni, Kimberly, Casey and Coutney; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson. Ms. Matte was preceded in death by her husband, Armogene Matte; one grandson, Randy James ; one great-grandson, Tyler; her parents, Leo and Agnes Cormier Bourque; two sisters, Leona Lanclos and Dora Jagneaux; four brothers, Louis, Leon, William and Val Bourque.
