Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements. Broedy was born on October 3, 1995 in Grand Island to Michael and Tammy (Huesinkvelt) Starkey. He was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Palmer.

He grew up in Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School in 2014. He attended school at Central Community College in Grand Island taking Business Administration & Entrepreneurship. He worked at Kermit’s Super Wash in St. Paul.

Broedy enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, car auctions, and races. He loved to fish for walleye at Sherman Lake. It was his goal each time to secretly out fish his grandpa, Robert.

He was an outdoorsman that loved to deer hunt from his favorite canal stand, always wanting to shoot a bigger buck than his dad! He loved to chase coyotes with the St. Libory bunch. If he wasn’t outdoors, you could find him working on his cars and trucks, always trying to brighten them up.

He loved buying vehicles, fixing them up, and then selling them. He had a knack for selling anything and always said he “could sell poop to a plumber”. The most important thing to Broedy, however, was his family.

He loved to spend time with all of his family, especially his niece and nephew. He showered them with homemade gifts that they loved. He spent every minute he could with them.

He had the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone! Those left to cherish his memory include girlfriend, Lindsey Gierhan or York; father, Michael Starkey of St. Paul; mother, Tammy Huesinkvelt of Bladen; grandparents, Robert Starkey & Becky Kolar of Palmer, Maxine & Todd White of Grand Island, Wanda & Jerry Johnson of Doniphan, Calvin & Shawna Huesinkvelt of Grand Island; sisters & brothers-in-law, Kyndsay & Devin Herrick of Palmer, Kassie & Kelly Faimon of Campbell, & Reagan Rust of Bladen; special niece & nephew, Hayzlee & Owyn Herrick, both of Palmer.
