Cobleskill – Bruce H. Cole, 88, of Warnerville, NY, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, NY. Born October 28, 1930, in Randolph, VT, Bruce was the son of the late Floyd and Pauline Cole of Quechee, VT. Bruce operated heavy equipment for the State of Vermont and owned a dairy farm in Barnard, VT, before moving to Smyrna, NY, in 1969, and then to Carlisle, NY, in 1972, where he owned and operated a dairy farm and custom crop farming business.

In 1975 he began his 30-year career driving tractor trailer hauling milk in the northeast and dry freight throughout the eastern US and southern Canada. He and his wife moved to Warnerville in 1982. An avid animal lover, Bruce enjoyed his cats and bird watching.

He enjoyed square dancing and had a passion for trains and model trains. He also dabbled with his own solar and wind power system. Survivors include his wife of 68 years Myrtle Cole, and daughters Vicky (Harry) of Maine, Valarie (Alan) of Wisconsin, Deborah (Mark) of Texas, and Bonnie (David) Bradbury of Schoharie, NY; a sister, Joyce Soule of Vermont; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private service will be held at a later date in Quechee, VT. Memorial donations may be made to Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc., P.O. Box 40, Howes Cave, NY, 12092. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill.
