Obituary of Bruce Donald Bruce Harry Donald passed away on June 28, 2018 in Peoria, Arizona from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Bruce was born April 7, 1935 to Harry D. and Dorothy Mae Troxell Donald in Fullerton , Whitehall Twsp, PA. Bruce was a graduate of Lower Merion High School, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (Finance), and received masters degrees from Temple University, and Villanova University.

He was an English teacher and a Guidance Counselor in the Haverford Twsp School system. He was the author of “Cutting College Costs” on student financial aid. He also served in the Army and National Guard for several years.

Bruce married Barbara Morris in Philadelphia, PA on November 21, 1964. They had 2 children, Lori Lyn Keeling (Kenneth) and Scott Bruce Donald (Shelley); three grandchildren, Alexandra Donald, Christopher Keeling, and Nicholas Keeling; and four step-grandchildren Kailie Keeling Martin (David), Thomas James Keeling, Matthew Sedwick, and Alexander Sedwick. He is also survive by special family friends Maria Berryman, William and Marge Foster and goddaughter Wendy Foster Elliott.

Throughout their lives Bruce and Barbara enjoyed traveling the United States and the world with family and friends. Their favorite places were the British Isles and France, however they enjoyed all countries they visited and have wonderful memories of their travels. Bruce was a descendant of the Mickley and Troxell families who were early settlers of Lehigh County .

His ancestor John Jacob Mickley is credited with helping to save the Liberty Bell and 13 other bells from the hands of the British during the Revolutionary War . Visitation will be held July 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM followed by services at 11:00 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Interment will be held at George Washington Memorial Park following the service.

A memorial service will be held on July 21, 2018 at Freedom Plaza, 13373 N Plaza Del Rio Blvd, Peoria, AZ. Please check the Heritage Funeral Home book on the internet for time. In lieu of flowers, donations to: the Plaza del Rio Foundation (PDRF) of Freedom Plaza, PBS or the Alzheimer’s Association would be preferred.
