Byron John Christo Lifestory Byron John (“B.J.”) Christo passed away May 8, 2019, at his home in Waukee, Iowa. B.J. was born June 10, 1952, to John and Agnes Christo of Marshalltown, Iowa. He received his education in the Marshalltown Community Schools, graduating with the Marshalltown High School Class of 1970.

He attended the University of Iowa, later transferring to Iowa State University. B.J. worked in sales and marketing at various establishments in the Des Moines area, including the Des Moines Register. An accomplished guitarist, keyboard player, and bassist, B.J. performed with several bands in his lifetime in the Marshalltown, Cedar Rapids and Des Moines areas.

B.J. was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes, his wife Marian (“Bobbie”) in 2014, and stepdaughter Debbie Haus in 2018.
