On Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Byron was the son of John Byron Hunter and Anne Yankovich Costly. He was born in Latrobe and spent a great deal of this adult life at his mother’s home in Ligonier where she owned a well-respected clothing store on East Main Street called The Towne Shoppe.

Byron received his undergraduate degree from St. Vincent College and did graduate work at Rutgers University. His entire teaching career was in the Kiski Area School District where his focus was on history and social studies. Byron is survived by a number of cousins in the Latrobe and Ligonier Valley areas.

The family wishes to thank all those who have been supportive to Byron during his long illness.
