Obituary for Mary Catherine (Powers) DeAngelis DeANGELIS MARY CATHERINE (POWERS) Age 87, a longtime Robinson Twp. resident, peacefully on Thursday, September 27, 2018 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of 67 years to James L. “Jay” DeAngelis; loving mother of Linda (Mervin) Mawhinney, James (the late Valerie) DeAngelis, and Margaret (Walter) Barefoot; proud grandmother of Matthew Mawhinney, Joshua (Michelle) Mawhinney, Zachary (Sara) Barefoot, Jamie DeAngelis, and Lucas (Kylie) Barefoot; proud greatgrandmother of Harrison, Josie, and Arthur; also survived by dear in-laws, Corrine (the late George) Wilke and DeDe and Sam Palombini; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mary was born and raised in Ingram, the daughter of Margaret Powers Neil. She attended St. Philip Elementary and St. James High School before marrying her love and life-long partner, Jay. Together, they made a great team and it was rare to see Mary without Jay by her side.

She enjoyed her time spent with treasured family, as well as her friends in Pittsburgh and Cape Coral, FL where she spent many winters. Mary will long be remembered for her sense of humor and infectious laugh. Family would like to extend special thanks to Mary’s “village”.

The compassionate staff of Country Meadows, Amedisys Home Health and special thanks to her “family” from Home Sweet Home: Traci, Pete, Terri, and Kathy. Visitation SUNDAY ONLY, 2-6 p.m. at the SCHEPNER-MCDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC. , 165 Noble Ave.
