Obituary for C. Elayne Deines Coda Elayne Deines, age 68, of Glendive, Montana, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Glendive Medical Center. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive with Father Francis Schreiber officiating.
Rite of Committal will be in Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements. Elayne was born on January 6, 1950 in Glendive, a daughter of Arthur and Coda (Hill) Christianson.
She was raised and educated in Glendive, graduating from the eighth grade from the Sacred Heart School where she was also a cheerleader at. She went on from there to graduate from Dawson County High School with the class of 1968. Shortly after graduating from high school Elayne met Gene Deines while working as a car hop for A&W Rootbeer.
They were united in marriage on June 21, 1969 in Glendive, and to this union four children were born: Jamie, Ryan, Angela, and Kimberly. In her spare time Elayne enjoyed knitting and sewing, she loved making baby blankets for all the new additions in the family. She also enjoyed dancing, going out to eat with family and friends, and garage sale-ing.
She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She loved her church very much. Anyone who knew Elayne knew about her gift of gab.
She could talk to anyone about most things, and was always proud to talk about her family. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and was exceptionally proud of them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Coda; one aunt, Veronica; and shortly after Elayne’s passing her nephew, Michael Christianson, unexpectedly passed away.
Elayne is survived by her husband, Gene Deines of Glendive; daughter, Jamie (Mike) Bloms of Ray, North Dakota; son, Ryan (Kerri) Deines of Eagle River, Alaska; daughter, Angela (Kevin) Godlevske of Glendive; daughter, Kimberly Hammonds of Glendive; nine grandchildren, Cody, Derek, Garrett, Autumn, Madison, Kayla, Ali, Luke, and Daniel; brother, Marvin (Mary) Christianson of Shelby, Montana; sister, Marie (Tim) Stanaway of Klamath Falls, Oregon; sister, Kay Wynne of Glendive; brother, Jim (Shelly) Christianson of Glendive; and numerous nieces and nephews.
