C. Richard Long, 90, of Spooner Road in Ashville, NY and formerly of Pittsfield, PA went home to be with Jesus Saturday, October 20, 2018 at his home. Born in Warren, PA on November 6, 1927, he was the son of the late Dewey and Emily (Wheelhouse) Long. Rich served in the United States Navy during WWII.

He was a dedicated volunteer at the Rouse Home in Youngsville from 2001 to 2015. He also served as a missionary with Wycliffe Bible Translators from 1972 to 1989. He was involved in the construction industry his entire life and will be remembered in Warren County as a talented builder.

Rich was the caretaker of the Riverside Cemetery for many years. He was a former member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Youngsville, taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. He also held a bible study for many years in his home on Page Hollow Road in Pittsfield.

He was the husband of Margaret V. (Naetzker) Long who survives him; 2 Sons, Thomas (Julie) R. Long of Atlanta, GA, and Robert L. Long of Pittsfield, PA; 2 Daughters, Deborah Jane Long Davey of Wilmington, NC and Rebecca Sue (Al) Andrew of Albemarle, NC; I0 granchildren, Tyler, Matthew, Luke and Richie Long, Julie Irons, Janey Johnson, Laura McCracken, David Long, Emily Andrew, and Jay Andrew; 6 great grandchildren, Jack, Leo and Aubrey Irons, Jayla, Brayden, and Paige Long and several nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jane Brown Long who died January 24, 2010; 2 brothers, Dewey J. Long and Roderick Long; 2 sisters, Hazel Long Tipton and Joyce Moffitt. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at McKinney Funeral Homes in Youngsville. A funeral service will be held at the EUM Church on Second Street in Youngsville at 1 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 with Rev.

Jeffrey Canter and Rev. Marcus Briggs officiating. Graveside Services will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Pittsfield In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Rouse Home.
