Calvin’s Obituary Ishpeming- Calvin P. Kuhn, age 81, longtime Ishpeming area resident passed away on Saturday March 9, 2019 at UP Health System Marquette while in the loving care of his family and hospital staff. Calvin was born July 20, 1937 in Villisca, Iowa to the late Paul and Irene (Fulton) Kuhn. He grew up in Iowa before entering the United States Airforce and coming to the UP where he has resided since 1967.

He worked at Cleveland Cliffs for 32 years prior to his retirement. Calvin was a lifetime member of the Ishpeming Elks club, he loved watching NASCAR, was an avid Packer fan, and enjoyed travelling with his wife and family. Calvin especially enjoyed going to Yellowstone, and several of the other National Parks.

He and his wife traveled to NASCAR races all over the country for 35 years. Calvin enjoyed going to the casino and playing blackjack. He attended professional bull riding events, and he liked tractors, most notably going to the Minnesota State Fair to see the tractor row.

Calvin is survived by his wife- Dorothy Kuhn, 4 children- Janis Shaffer, Kenneth (Lisa) Kuhn, Darrell (Becky) Kuhn, Kristin (David) Culliton, 1 son-in-law- Peary Breaux, siblings- Janis (Dan) Musselman, Gary (Fonda) Kuhn, Randy (Margie) Kuhn, Jimmy (Vicky) Kuhn, brothers-in-law- James Anderson, Leigh Anderson, sister-in-law- Sue Anderson, 9 grandchildren- Caitlin (Pat), Alissa, (Sarah), Heather (Jeffrey), Taylor (Dennis) Corey, Christopher, Shane, 4 great grandchildren- Lilly, Casey, Sarah, Cooper, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother- Emma Calvin’s family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday March 13, 2019 at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home from 9:30am until 11:00am. Calvin’s funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev.

Matt Osborne officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Air Force. Inurnment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery in the spring.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Wesley United Methodist Church Music Ministry (Ishpeming), Victory Junction Camp (www. victoryjunction.org), or the Ishpeming Elks Scholarship Fund.
