Candelaria “Candy” Castillo Rios, 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2019 in Alvarado, TX. Candy was born on February 2, 1938 in Staples, Texas. She was the last of 8 children born to Justo and Louisa Castillo.

In 1969 Candy married Manuel Rios, Sr. and they celebrated 34 years of marriage. Manuel preceded her in death in 2003. Candy is also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Florentino, Luis, Vicente, Jose, Jesse “Chuy”, Juan, and Leopoldo.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Manuel and his wife Becky Rios, and Michael and his wife Melissa Rios; her grandchildren, Celeste, Monica, Jessica, Valerie, Manuel III, Angel, Airika, Ariel, Thomas, and Christian; her 4 great grandchildren; her sisters in law, Lala, Cuca, Linda, Lecha, Albina, and Elida; brother in law, Toby; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. A rosary will be said at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home during the visitation service from 6-8 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Burial: Glenwood Cemetery, Alvarado, Texas.
