OBITUARY Carl D. Bigler December 2, 1926 – November 15, 2018 Carl D. Bigler age 91 of Washington passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Waynesburg. He was born December 2, 1926 in West Bethlehem Township, Washington County, a son of the late Orris Perry Bigler and Helen Mae Schrontz Bigler. He graduated from Trinity High School in 1943.

Mr. Bigler was a veteran of World War II serving with the U. S. Army in the Pacific Theater. On March 19, 1948, he married Helen I. Mankey Bigler who passed away April 14, 2002. He worked for 34 years in the specialties department at Jessup Steel.

Mr. Bigler was a lifelong member of the Lone Pine Christian Church. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed gardening. Surviving are a daughter, Joy A. Gensler of Waynesburg; a granddaughter, Ann Inghram McCarty-Chess and her husband Craig; two great-granddaughters, Madeline Elaine McCarty and Emily Claire McCarty; one brother, Gary Bigler and his wife Roseann of Washington; one sister, Mary Franks, of Cortland, Ohio; and many loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Bigler and William Bigler; and six sisters, Lydia Wonsettler, Esther Jean Theakston, Marjorie Faye Riggle, Rita Murphy, Edith Bigler and Ida Mae McGuane. Gensler, Daughter Ann Inghram McCarty-Chess, Granddaughter Madeline Elaine McCarty, Great Granddaughter Emily Claire McCarty, Great Granddaughter Gary Bigler, Brother Mary Franks, Sister Albert Bigler, Brother William Bigler, Brother Lydia Wonsettler, Sister Esther Jean Theakston, Sister Marjorie Faye Riggle, Sister Rita Murphy, Sister Edith Bigler, Sister Ida Mae McGuane, Sister Also surviving are many loved nieces and nephews.
