Carl Edward Ishmael, of Pickerel, died Friday, May 24, 2019 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was 78 years old. He was born April 4, 1941 in Hillsboro, IL, son of the late Harlos and Bertha (Autofolk) Ishmael.

He was a graduate of Bradford High School in Kenosha. He worked as a forklift operator in Waukegan, IL. Carl served in the US Army in the Vietnam War.

He was also stationed in Germany for 6 years. He enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, Animal Planet, and Investigation Discovery. Survivors include his wife, Laura (Dankart) Ishmael; a daughter, Jamie Marten of Antigo; a granddaughter, Summer Rose Marten-Spencer; a brother-in-law, Chuck (Brenda) Dankert of Milwaukee; 2 nephews, Richard (Nichole Durret) Ehm, Sr. of Clintonville, and Chuck Dankert, Jr.; 2 great-nephews, Richard Ehm, Jr., and Mason Ehm; and his friends Lisa Pritchett of Pickerel, and Desiree Pritchett of Antigo.
