Carl Edward Whetzel, Sr. 72 died May 7,2019 at St. Clare Health & Rehab after a long battle with lung cancer. Mr. Whetzel was born to Icie Jane and Edward Whetzel on March 29, 1947 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He started working at a young age and finally found his speciality in the carpet and landscaping industries.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Marcella “Marcie”Sacramone and was married on October 8, 1983. They raised a son together and Carl had 3 other children from a previous marriage. Mr. Whetzel was survived by one brother, Chester and pre-deceased by four brothers Gene, Vernon, Cletus and Curtis all of Harrisonburg, VA.

In his spare time he enjoyed taking trips to Rhode Island, deep sea fishing and spending time with his family. Carl’s family was the center of his universe and everything revolved around them. Carl was the best friend, husband and father anyone could ask for.

Carl is survived by his loving wife Marcie of Hamden, CT, children Carl Whetzel, JR. (Candy) of Atoka, TN, Wanda Whetzel of Harrisonburg, VA, Eldon “Pickles” of Harrisonburg, VA and John (Jenna) Whetzel, Sr of Hamden, CT. , 4 grandchildren (John, Jr “Jakey”, Jessie, Marty & Brandon) and 3 great-grandchildren (Case, Colt & Winston).
