Mr. Carl W. Loy of Campbellsville was born on August 13, 1926 in Taylor County to the late Henry C. and Estill (Gribbins) Loy. He departed this life on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Ephraim McDowell Hospital, being 91 years, 9 months, and 13 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mannsville United Methodist Church.

Mr. Loy retired from the General Electric plant in Louisville after 30+ years of service. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a veteran of the United States Air Force, a farmer, and a talented bluegrass musician, and had won the Best Banjo Picker at the Sorghum Festival in Springfield. He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife of nearly 67 years: Mrs. Helen Marie (Mings) Loy One daughter: Sheila Hollon and husband David of Campbellsville, One sister: Mildred Cooley of Louisville, One grandson: Anthony Hollon and companion Tonya Mann of Campbellsville, And a host of other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Willard Loy and Harold Loy. There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Loy on Tuesday, May 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro.

John Hall will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Callahan Cemetery, Speck Ridge Rd, Campbellsville, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 28, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
