Carl W. Skelly, age 84 of Leesburg passed away May 7, 2019 in Leesburg, Florida. Carl was born on April 28, 1935 to Charles and Mary (McIntee) Skelly in Rochester, N.Y. Carl married Nancy Christiansen on January 26, 1957 in Rochester. Carl worked for NYS-DOT and retired after 38 years as an Assistant Residential engineer, after retiring from a job he thoroughly enjoyed, he and his wife Nancy moved to The Plantation Community in Leesburg, Florida.

Carl helped design, plan and build the Plantation Memorial Park in the Plantation Community and had a great respect for veterans. He served in the Navy Seabee reserves in the 1950’s. Carl loved to garden and spent many hours tending to his yard and flower beds.

Carl was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Leesburg. Carl is survived by his wife Nancy of 62 years, son Gary (Kathy) Skelly of Georgia, daughter Linda (Ron) Weber of Pennsylvania, daughter Sheila (John) Sperr of New York, son Owen (Bernadette) Skelly of Georgia, grandchildren Christina, Sasha, Gina, Erin, Hillary, Mark, Paul, Matthew, Andrew, great-grandchildren Heidi, Etta, Hendricks, sister Dorothy (Ray) Spall of North Carolina, sister-in-law Marjorie Berger of Florida, and several surviving nieces and nephews. Carl is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
