Carla Ellison Clayton July 5, 1960 – December 27, 2018 Carla Dedra “Edie” Ellison Clayton departed this life at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank on Thursday, December 27, 2018. She was a native of New Orleans, LA, former resident of Harvey, LA, and a presently residing in Marrero, LA. Edie, as she was affectionately known to family and friends will be remembered by all who knew her and loved her.

Devoted wife of Archie Clayton. Stepmother of Abram, Ahmad, and Aaron Raymond Clayton. Daughter of the late Freddie Ellison, Sr. and Valeria London Ellison.

Loving sister of Charles, Melvin (Linda), Johnny (Terri), and Coleman Ellison, Nora Lee (Samuel) Jones, Linda Ellison, Rhonda (the late John) Dumas, Patricia (Ronald) Warmington, Valeria Givens, Geneen (Harvey) Jefferson, Rita Tross, Shirley Cantrell, and the late Pastor Dwight Ellison, Freddie Ellison, Jr., Lucille Ellison, and Elizabeth Matthews. Niece of Gloria London. Sister-in-law of Thera Ellison, Shirley Clayton and Rhoda Hundley, Laura, Priscilla, Lou Ann, Patricia, Melwyn, and Sheila Clayton, David, Daniel, Leon, Larry, Arthur, and Gerald Clayton, also survived a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and acquaintances to treasure her life memories and Legacy.
