Obituary for Carmela Hoshorian Carmela Hoshorian, age 89, of Berlin, New Jersey went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2018. Preceded by husband John Hoshorian and daughter Carol Eberhart. Loving mother of John Hoshorian, Richard Eberhart, David and Carmella McMurray.

Proud grandmother of Richard Junior (Patti), Kristine (Michael), Carmella (Donald), Angelyn (Keith), Donna (Mark), and Joyce (Craig). Doting great grandmother of Michael, Brianna, (Elliott) Hannah (Jude), Devon, Anthony, Vincent, Delanie, Brandon, Mickaela, Kami, Mark, Victoria, Gianna, Alexandria, Talia, Raffaello, and three great great grandchildren Dexter, Dean, and Wesley. Carmela was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.

Early in their marriage Carmela and John learned and enjoyed the trade of seamstress, shoe repair, and dry cleaning. The two of them scraped together $5000 in 1944 to launch their own business in Kensington, Philadelphia. They both worked side-by-side to establish their family business.

In the mid 60s they decided to move from their neighborhood to New Jersey to continue their business. For several years this business continued with Carmela as the seamstress and counter manager of their thriving business. Carmela always enjoyed cooking for her family and neighbors of the community in which she lived.

It was not uncommon to have several members from their neighborhood for dinner each night. Upon retirement Carmela and John spent their days at the Jersey shore, taking small trips visiting with family and friends, or cheering for her favorite Phillies. She also enjoyed the worship and fellowship with the families of First Baptist Church of Blackwood.

Viewing for family and friends will be Sunday, April 22nd, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Monday, April 23rd, 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM with a Service at 11:00 AM, all at the First Baptist Church of Blackwood 899 Little Gloucester Rd. , Blackwood, NJ.
