Carol L. Bergman, age 62 of Batesville, died Monday, December 24, 2018 at her home. Born November 10, 1956 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Leona (Nee: Kinker) and Donald Meyer. She married Dennis Bergman July 17, 1976 at St. Louis Church.

She was a long time administrative assistant for the Batesville Middle School. Family was extremely important to Carol. A devoted mother, her children were her priority and later her grandchildren proved to be the greatest joy in her life.

She was dearly looking forward to the newest edition to the family, grandson Brooks Grow, who is due next month. Family and friends often commented that she was an exemplary role model as a parent. She was selfless and caring, always putting others first.

Carol was also invaluable to the Batesville School Corporation. A fixture in the BMS office, she worked with seven principals over the course of her 41-year career. Her mind was like a file cabinet, cataloging over 4 decades of information and experience.

She particularly found passion and pride in organizing and running the school fundraiser and working the admissions at various sporting events each season. Carol loved her job, coworkers and students and will be sorely missed. Hobbies she enjoyed included working in the garden, puzzles and quilting.

Being happily married for over 42 years, she and Denny loved to visit the walking and hiking trails at various state parks and were able to take numerous family trips, with Alaska and Disney World among their favorites. Carol is survived by her husband Dennis; son David (Michelle) Bergman of Zionsville, Indiana; daughter Krista (Jacob) Grow of Kansas City, Missouri; son Marc Bergman of Kansas City, Kansas; brother Gary (Rosalie) Meyer, sister Cheryl (Robert) Siebert, brother Scott (Angie) Moeller, all of Batesville; grandchildren Cooper and Kinley Bergman as well as Brooks Grow who is due in January. In addition to her parents, Carol is also preceded in death by her daughter Lynn Ann Bergman and stepfather William Moeller.

Visitation is Thursday, December 27th, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, December 28th, at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating.

Burial will follow in Adams Cemetery. The family requests memorials to New Horizons Rehabilitation Center or the Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research Project. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Carol L. Bergman please visit our Sympathy Store.
