Carol Louise Johnson Smith Carol Louise Johnson Smith was born 18 of May 1927, Sage Creek, Utah (7 miles outside of Randolph, Utah) in a 3 room log home, built by her paternal grandparents in 1890 on a homestead of 360 acres of land. Her parents were Harry Johnson and Leona Josephine Smedley. She was the second daughter of the family.

She attended Randolph Elementary school and graduated from South Rich High School. She went on to the University of Utah. During WWII she worked at South Rich High School as a secretary and instructor for girls athletics.

In 1948 she married Kenneth Orin Smith in Evanston, Wyoming. They lived in Kaysville a short time and then moved to Layton where she resided 43 years before moving to Syracuse, Utah, where she lived for 21 years. During these years of early marriage she worked at a Bakery in Kaysville, the Clover Club Potato Chip Factory, Ogden Arsenal and Hill Air Force Base.

She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1952. Later serving a mission in Hawaii in 1981. Three children were born Debra Ann, Thomas Kenneth and John Orin.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ken 39 years ago in 1980, both parents and siblings Avis Cook, Patsy Blas and Harry Lee Johnson. She is survived by her children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse 11th Ward, 2024 S. 1475 W. Syracuse, Utah.

, with Bishop Todd Patterson conducting. Friends may visit with family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd.
