Carol Murphy’s soul went home to be with her heavenly father. She lived beautiful and fulfilled life. She led a devout Christian life spreading love and compassion with everyone she encountered.

Carol followed her parents passion for cruising, enjoying a decade long voyage serving as social director for several cruise lines. Carol retired from a promising career to raise her son, Steven, and assist her parents with their Ft. Lauderdale Sun Tower Hotel.

Carol continued her love of the hospitality industry joining her husband in owning the iconic Austin’s in Cumming, Georgia for seventeen successful years. During her restaurant ownership she made lifelong friendships with hundreds of patrons leading to the phrase, she owned the ‘Cheers” of Forsyth. Carol led a life of compassion, adulation, redemption, obligation, and love.

Her spirit touched the lives of all she meet. She had high principles and standards lifting others to reach higher. Carol was the most truthful and perfect human being you could find.

Carol had many passions including dance and music. She could light up a dance floor with her professional Latin dances and enjoyed going to intimate concerts by artists playing the standards. She battled melanoma for five years until it entered her brain.

Her illness took her away much too soon but her mind will live on through eternity. She is survived by her husband, Steven Murphy, parents, George & Marge Zarekas, son & daughter-in-law, Steven & Kristin Murphy, grandchildren, Kyle & Charlotte Murphy. Memorial services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Saturday January 26, 2019 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Forsyth County Humane Society or Visiting Nurse Health System/Hospice Atlanta. Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming is in charge of arrangements.
