Carol S. “Sue” Ruhlen, 88, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at St. Catherine’s Care Center of Fostoria. She was born on November 3, 1929, in Tiffin, Ohio, to George Gentry and Evelyn (Shaffer) Briihl. On June 10, 1951, she married Lawrence L. Ruhlen and he preceded her in death on April 11, 1998.

Survivors include her three sons, David L. (Margaret) Ruhlen of Daytona, FL, Michael E. (Judy) Ruhlen of Tiffin and Robert A. “Bob” Ruhlen of Plymouth, Florida; three daughters, Vicki L. (Mike) Hammer of Harpster, Ohio, Candace J. Kirby and Teresa A. (Jerry) Elchert, both of Tiffin; brothers, George Anthony (Carolyn) Briihl of Cleveland and James “Jim” (Dorothy) Briihl of Canonsburg, PA; sister, Andrea (Dale) Foltz of Tiffin; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Sue graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1948 and worked at Kuebler Shoes.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Circle of Trinity and Elder Women. Sue had a passion and love for reading. She read ten books every two weeks.

She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed going to their sporting events. A private graveside service was held at Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Tiffin-Seneca Public Library or to Trinity United Church of Christ.
