Carol Sue Smith January 01, 1937 – February 24, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Carol Nordman Creech Smith passed away February 24, 2019 at the age of 82. Born to Virgil Nordman and Muriel Nordman Carpenter on January 1, 1937 in Shawnee Oklahoma, she was raised by Roscoe Carpenter. She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 28 years, Arthur Lee Smith.

She is survived by her daughters Nancy Creech Stephenson of Edmond and Vicki Creech Bogardus of Oklahoma City, grandchildren Jessica Bogardus, Matt Stephenson and his wife Whitney, Hannah Cannon, and one very special great grandson Reed Lee Stephenson. She is also survived by her brother James Carpenter and his wife Roylene, niece Lori Lederman and family, and nephew Chad Carpenter and family. Carol will be remembered for having a very strong work ethic.

She worked 2 and 3 jobs while raising her two daughters as a single parent. She went to work at Oklahoma City Police Department in 1962 and retired in 1984. She loved animals, working in her garden and having cookies and or candy with her coffee every afternoon.

Visitation will be 1-8 pm, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Buchanan Funeral Service. Services to celebrate her life will be 10 am, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Britton Christian Church with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
