Carole A. Kennedy, age 76, of Mars, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at home. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary Gray Hackney, step-daughter of E. Patricia Hackney, all who preceded her in death. She was a 1959 graduate of Pine Richland High School and a 1963 graduate of Indiana State Teachers College (IUP).

She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She retired from the Mars Area School District as an elementary school teacher in 2003. She was a member of Glade Run Church in Valencia, PA.

Surviving are her daughters, Susan (Duke) Loring of Butler, Diane Harris of Valencia, and Robyn (Butch) Lambert of Valencia; her grandchildren, Alyssa and Austin Loring, and Madison Lambert; her sister, Sally Bunnell of Valencia, sister-in-law, Marge Kennedy of Mars, brother-in-law, Lee (Lorraine) Steffler of Fombell, PA and step-brother, Paul (Marge) Jackson of Irwin. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and many very special friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, G. Robert “Clutch” Kennedy, who she married on November 21, 1964 and died on February 7, 2007.

Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave.

Mars, PA 16046, with Rodney Smith, officiating. Everyone please meet at the church. Burial will be in Old Union Church Cemetery.
