Caroline A. (Siok) Cygan, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, with her loving family at her side. Born February 3, 1927, daughter of the late Stanley and Victoria (Piscor) Siok, she was raised on the family farm in Brimfield before relocating to Chicopee over sixty years ago. Caroline was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr, where she was a member of the Rosary Society, and was also a longtime member of the Womens’ Auxilliary at the Dominican monastery in West Springfield.

In her younger years Caroline worked as a typist for Uniroyal Manufacturing and greatly enjoyed travelling the world, especially with her late friend, Georgia. She was an avid gardener, and her roses were spectacular. Caroline’s family would like to thank her personal caregivers, Joan, Esther and Mae, for the kind care and compassion given to her.

Caroline was predeceased in 1990 by her beloved husband, Thaddeus Cygan, and is survived by her loving children, Thomas M. Cygan and wife Florence of Naples, FL, and Theresa A. Cygan of Springfield; caring sisters, Mary Korsak of N.Y. and Josephine Kusek of Palmer; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Stella Ermanski. Funeral services for Caroline will be held Friday at 9AM from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica.

Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus School, 534 Front St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
