Caroline Sue Kincaid, age 78, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Olathe Medical Center. Caroline was delivered at home by Dr. G. T. Myers, her grandfather, and was born Monday, July 15, 1940, in Macks Creek, MO. Her parents were Floyd and Ruby (Meyers) Davis.

They made their home in Paola. Don was in the Army when they were married and they moved to Washington for a time. They moved back to Paola after leaving Washington.

Survivors include her husband Don of the home; two sons David B. Rice, M.D. (Mary, J.D.) of Bellingham, Washington and Randall Rice, M.D. of Rock Springs, WY; two daughters Dr. Vickie Kelly (Kyle) of Lansing, KS and Rebecca Banks (Gregory Cop) of Olathe; two sisters Stella Davis Lading of Kansas City, Kansas and Thelma Louise Davis Hanson of Macks Creek, MO; 12 grandchildren Anneliese, Rachel, Ian, Kyleigh, Dylan, Samuel, Brooklyn, Javen, Shancy, Kari, Alicia, and Michael; 3 great grandchildren Kinley, Henry, and William; her beloved canine companion Sadie; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Mary Ann Davis Eldred. Caroline lived a life of service.

She was a homemaker whose top priority was her family. She thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent with her kids and grandkids. She had a very strong faith and was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Hillsdale.

She participated in many of the ladies church group activities. She liked arts and crafts and made many beautiful floral arrangements. Her early career was with Eckan which was a state program where she helped start the Head Start Program and Meals on Wheels in Miami County.

Caroline was a very loyal friend, often times going out of her way to help others. She was a living example of the quote “Silver and gold, have I none, but what I have I give to you”. The family suggests memorial contributions to Miami County Safe Home, Miami County Cancer Foundation or Hillsdale Presbyterian Church c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary-Crematory, 305 North Pearl Street, Paola, KS 66071.
