Princeton- Carolyn Braswell Bass, 72, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Barbour Court Nursing Home in Smithfield. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.

Mrs. Bass was born in Johnston County on July 31, 1945 to the late Alexander and Vilor Wilkins Braswell. She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Carol Ward and husband, Chris of Selma and Amanda Faye Bryant of Smithfield; one brother, George Benton Braswell of Elm City and three grandchildren, Leah Ward, Amber Ward and Andrew Bryant. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Earl Braswell.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
