Carolyn Jane Brady (nee Kelliher) 88, formerly of Oakhurst, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. She was born on May 30, 1930 in Paterson, NJ, moved to Oakhurst, NJ in 1956 and resided there until moving to Myrtle Beach, SC last years. Carolyn graduated St. Josephs High School, Paterson, NJ, received her RN from St .

Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, Paterson, NJ, her Bachelors in Health Education and School Nursing from Jersey City State College, Jersey City, NJ, and her Masters in Community Health Education from Jersey City State College, Jersey City, NJ. Carolyn retired after 25 years of teaching nursing at Monmouth County Vocational School. She received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1989.

Carolyn was a devout Catholic, a founding member of St. Jerome RC Church, a member of the Rosary Alter Society and a past PTA President at St. Jerome School. Carolyn was devoted to her family. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family, especially to Ireland.

She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph V. Brady Sr., her son’s Joseph V. Brady Jr. and John P. Brady and a daughter Kathleen A. Brady. Surviving are her children, Maureen Dupre, West Long Branch, NJ; Jerome E. Brady and his wife Beth, Myrtle Beach, SC; James M. Brady, Myrtle Beach, SC; and Jean Brady Ciullo and her husband Patrick, Sanford, FL; daughter in law, Leah Delay-Brady, Havre de Grace, MD. ; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the Hoffman Funeral Home, 415 Broadway, Long Branch on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at St. Jerome RC Church, 254 Wall St., West Long Branch, NJ. Interment will follow in Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
