CAROLYN’s Obituary Viewing with the family present for Carolyn V. Frantz, 91, of Fairview will be Thursday, March the 14th, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Graveside interment will be Friday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Saron Mennonite Cemetery with the Memorial Services Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Saron Mennonite Church in Orienta, Oklahoma. The Reverend Arnold Curby will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. Carolyn Vera Mitchell Frantz entered the “Gate where EVERYONE was waiting for HER” on March 1, 2019 at the age of 91.

Carolyn was born on a farm in West Minot on March 14, 1927. She was one of the 5 daughters that helped her Dad on the farm until her little brother got big enough. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 13 at a Seventh Day Advent Summer Camp.

She was passionate about her family needing to know Jesus as their personal Savior. Carolyn loved to read, ski, ice skate, swim, cook and sing. After High School she was hired as driver and friend for a woman photographer.

Her first year at the University of Maine she majored in Home Economics and met Elmer Frantz. He was stationed there to help with the Agriculture Division of the University as a noncombatant in World War II. Carolyn married Elmer Frantz August 10, 1947 in Mechanic Falls, Maine.

They lived on the Frantz Farm for 61 years. They were married 62 years and had 3 children. Carolyn volunteered in the Saron Mennonite Church with the Women’s Mission Ministries, Vacation Bible School and many church events.

She helped with Orienta Grade School and Oklahoma Bible Academy activities. She helped in MCC Meat Canning and Sales, Sheriff’s Holiday meals and many other community events. She had one paid job as an Assistant Postal Carrier from Fairview for several years.

Carolyn was preceded in death by one son, Myron Frantz and her husband Elmer Frantz. She leaves behind one sister, Joyce Hellen of Maine, her daughter, Barbara Eck and husband Marvin of Bartlesville, Ok and son Nelson Frantz and his wife Pam of Aline. Carolyn has 7 Grandchildren, Melissa Cleveland and David, Travis Eck and Bronwyn, Emily Powell and Brandon, Amy Oatman and Mark, J.W. Wilcox, Clayton Wilcox, and Tom Wilcox.

She also has 9 Great-grandchildren Paige, Kennedy, Chance, Chasity, Cooper, Madison, Macy, Riley, and Lily. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Saron Mennonite Church or Gideon’s Memorial Bibles.
