Catherine’s Obituary Sublette – Catherine V. Bartholomew, 93, died January 31, 2019 at Morton County Senior Living Community in Elkhart. She was born on October 7, 1925 in Guymon, the daughter of Clarence Edwin and Sarah Elizabeth (Wertz) Elliot. As a child, Catherine moved with her family from Guymon, Oklahoma to Kansas.

The family eventually settled in Turon, where Catherine attended school. She married Lyle Bartholomew. He preceded her in death.

Catherine and Lyle, along with Lyle’s family, were missionaries in Africa and India for many years. After Lyle’s death, Catherine moved to San Clemente, California where she worked for K-Mart. After her retirement, Catherine moved to a farm near Ellinwood.

She later moved to Sublette to live with her brother, Vernon. Catherine is survived by her brother, Vernon Elliot of Sublette; one granddaughter; two grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle; son, Steven; a daughter, Nancy; one brother, Bill Elliot; and a sister, Mary Corrine Carrier.

Graveside service will be held at Turon Cemetery, Turon on Tuesday February 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel – PO Box 607 – Sublette, KS 67877.
