Mrs. Catherine Hiott Elkins, 70, of Round O, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Pruitt Healthcare in Walterboro. Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2018 at Welch Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 pm until the hour of service at the church. Born June 19, 1947 in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Richard Hiott and Frances Brownlee Hiott Bailey. She was graduate of Walterboro High School, Class of 1965 and graduated from Palmer Business College.

She was a member of Welch Creek Baptist Church, where she was the 2016 Christian Lady of the Year. Mrs. Cathy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family, always lending a helping hand to her extended family and friends. She was a talented artist and loved to paint.

Surviving are: her husband of 51 years, Roy Dean Elkins, Sr. of Round O; children, Teresa Orr of Charleston and Roy Dean Elkins, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Walterboro; grandchildren, Robbie Griffin, Mark Day, Jr., Misty Day, Jamie Lee McAlister, Michael Ellkins, and Savanna Elkins; great grandchildren, Kyleigh Griffin and Tyler Barnes; a niece that she loved as a daughter, Peggy Rodgers; sisters, Virginia “Ginny” Hiott Roessler and her husband Dane of Walterboro and Vicki Gale Hiott Syfrett and her husband Billy of Walterboro; brother, Richard “Ricky” Hiott and his wife Mary of Walterboro; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Hiott Shaw. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Welch Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 536 Welch Creek Road, Walterboro, SC 29488.
