Cecilia M. Raposa (Curley) 97, of East Taunton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Longmeadow of Taunton. She was the wife of the late Joseph D. Raposa. Born in Boston, MA, she was a daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary (Hever) Curley.

She was educated in the Bridgewater School System and later attended the Taunton Vocational School of Nursing. Cecilia worked as an LPN at Morton Hospital, Cardinal Cushing Hospital, in Brockton, Boston Children’s Hospital and the Goddard Hospital, in Stoughton, for many years prior to retirement. Mrs. Raposa enjoyed reading, sewing, and painting.

She is survived by her son, Daniel J. Raposa, and his wife, Lorraine, of East Taunton; four grandchildren, Michael J. Raposa, of St. Petersburg, FL, Susan M. Dykas, and her husband, James, of Taunton, Thomas D. Raposa, of East Taunton, and Nancy E. Carreiro, and her husband, John of East Taunton; five great grandchildren, JT Carreiro, Lauren Dykas, Nicholas Ulianelli, Jacob Carreiro, and Ryan Dykas; her great great grandson, Jack Daniel Carreiro; and several nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She was the sister of the late Michael J. Curley, Jr., John J. Curley, James Curley and Helen Curley. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to visit with Cecilia’s family on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 9:00 to 10:00 am, in the Sowiecki Funeral Home, 69 West Britannia Street, Taunton (Handicap access is located on the left side of the funeral home) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, in the Holy Family Church, 372 Middleboro Avenue, East Taunton.

Interment in her family lot at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Bridgewater will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Longmeadow of Taunton Activities Fund, 68 Dean Street, Taunton, MA 02780, in her memory would be deeply appreciated.
